Work starts on San Blas pumping station.
Excavation
works have started for the building of a pumping station to divert
all the sewage outflow from San Blas to Mġarr
ix-Xini in Għajnsielem
thereby freeing this lovely sandy beach from the contamination resulting
from such outflow.
The
Nadur Local Council has long been planning and putting pressure on the
competent bodies for such a project which now seems to materialise in
the near future. Together with the restoration of Torri Sopu and the
landscaping of the
Qortin quarry these will give a new look to all the San Blas area.

Lejla tal-Waħx, for this year's Nadur carnival on February 24

burlesque" costumes.
The 40-minute play is accompanied by music and is based on a story
written specifically for the event, Etnika's project coordinator Andrew
Alamango said.
"Based on historical facts, as well as popular folk beliefs and

Gmendr Gassafetzas
Band to take part in Nadur Carnival
The
Nadur Council has officially announced that
the Swiss Band
Gmendr Gassafetzas which plays Guggamusigg will be taking part, as
guest, during the Nadur spontaneous Carnival from Sunday 26th
to Tuesday 28th February, 2006.
The special sound of the Guggamusigg is not only the result of the
enormous rhythm section (several percussion instruments, big and small
drums, bongos, bells, rattles etc), but also of the ensemble playing of
'laymen' and 'experts'. It is this symbiosis which is said to mark the
Guggamusigg. Read more:
